Nancy and I took the train from Tuscany to Rome, dropped our bags and walked back outside. I could barely believe it: Straight down our street, a quarter mile away, was the Roman Colosseum.
After saying farewell to Emily in Florence, Nancy and I took the train 90 minutes south to Chiusi, rented a car and drove to our new base in Macciano - a small town in the heart of Tuscany.
